Appointment of Chief Financial Officer

Global Oceanic Carriers Limited (AIM:GOC), the Greek-based drybulk shipping company, today announces the appointment of Christina Anagnostara to the Board as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director with immediate effect.  Douglas Kearney, who was the Chief Financial Officer of the Company since its Admission to AIM moves to non-executive director.

Christina Anagnostara, a certified chartered accountant, has for the last eight years held a senior manager position in EFG Audit and Consulting Services, the group auditors of EFG Group, the international banking group headquartered in Geneva. Christina's primary role was to assist the Board and Committees, by providing an independent appraisal of the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control framework and systems in operation within the Group, so that they operate at optimum effectiveness and cost efficiency, reflecting leading control practices. Prior to EFG Group, she had worked for two years in the Internal Audit Group of Eurobank EFG, a bank with a leading position in Greece and three years as a senior auditor at Ernst & Young.

Christina Anagnostara, aged 36, has held the other following directorships and/or partnerships during the past five years:

There is no other information that falls to be disclosed under Schedule 2 paragraph (f) of the AIM Rules.
