Global Oceanic Carriers Limited (AIM:GOC), the Greek-based drybulk shipping company, today announces the appointments of Tom Saul and Theo Phanos to the Board as non-executive Directors with immediate effect.
Tom Saul is the current Finance Director of Exploration Logistics Group plc (appointed October 2006), a group of companies which provides remote support solutions around the world. In the ten years prior to joining Exploration Logistics Group, Tom held positions as Finance and IT Director at A Bilbrough & Co Ltd, London Managers and the London P&I Club, a marine insurance company with global coverage. Between 1989 and 1995, Tom worked in Dixon Wilson for six years in general audit and tax practice. A certified chartered accountant (qualified in 1993) Tom holds a degree in English Language and Literature from Jesus College, University of Oxford.
Thomas James Bycroft Saul, aged 41, has held the other following directorships and/or partnerships during the past five years:

Theo Phanos is a Co-founder of Trafalgar Asset Managers and CIO of Trafalgar Recovery Fund and Trafalgar Discovery Fund. Prior to Trafalgar, Theo worked for eight years at Bankers Trust, Lehman Brothers and most recently the high yield and distressed group at Deutsche Bank. During his career Theo worked across all fixed income and credit disciplines including cash, derivative and structured products. Theo has an MBA (Finance) from New York University (Stern School of Business) and a BSc (Economics) from University College London.

Global Oceanic Carriers Limited is a shipping company comprising of ship ownership, management and chartering. The company is based in Glyfada, Greece and incorporated in Jersey. The Company has acquired three vessels and will use the extensive shipping experience of the management and the dynamic market conditions to build a fleet for long term charter revenue.
The Company's fleet comprises of two Panamax bulk carriers and one Handysize vessel with an aggregate carrying capacity of 171,941 Dwt. In October 2006 the Company announced that it has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire two further vessels, a Capesize bulk carrier and a Handymax bulk carrier, with an aggregate carrying capacity 195,801 Dwt.
Drybulk ships carry cargo that is shipped in large volumes and can be easily stowed in a single hold including iron ore, coal and grain.
